Packwood Packwood is surrounded by Gifford Pinchot National Forest. Its nestled between Mt Rainier, Mt Adams, Mt St Helens in beautiful Washington State.
The Picturesque outdoors greets you in every direction. You can ski, golf, hike, fish, camp, hunt, snowmobile, ride horses, bike, fly, swim or boat. Nearby is the Goat Rock Wilderness; Tatoosh Wilderness; Mt Rainier National Park with Longmire, Sunrise and Paradise; William Douglas Wilderness; Mt St Helens Volcanic Monument & Mt Adams Wilderness. Wildlife abound in many areas. Also, the Cowlitz River meanders through this Big Bottom Valley. We have numerous wilderness lakes and streams as well as four other major lakes nearby for water recreation.
If it's true that a picture is worth a thousand words then you should see Packwood for yourself. We are only 2 hours from Seattle or Portland and 1 1/2 hours from Yakima. Interstate 5 (I-5) is only 72 miles west. Packwood also has it's own small airport. We have a population of about 1,500 in the winter and 3,000 in the summertime.
